Obion Android app volume too low & no speakerphone on Samsung Galaxy Nexus & S3

I installed Obion Android app on both my Samsung Galaxy Nexus
and S3 phones.
Everything seems to work fine, but there are some issues I can't
resolve: (occurs on both phones)
(1) even with volume turn to maximum, the earpiece volume is really
low
(2) Obion doesn't seem to allow the use of the speakerphone
(3) using Bluetooth headset(any brand) frequently causes Obion to crash
Is there anything I can do to solve these problems?

I have a Droid 4 w/ JB. Speaker did not work w/ OBiON. Also, it is difficult to know if the app is started since there is no ICON in the notification area or when you swipe the notification down to open it up.

I was looking at the Obion app page in the Google Play Store...
didn't realize it has such low ratings. 2.6 is probably the lowest rating of all the apps I've ever installed in the last two to three years.
I only installed it because I was really pleased with the Obi110 boxes that I ordered...
the Obion app has not been updated for over a year. is it basically an abandoned app?
